    I would like and Air Window Single Casement Portrait, size 18" x 24”, but it will not allow me to choose 2 horizontal lines. Is there a way to order this?

    A single steel casement window at 24” tall will not allow for 2 horizontal lines due to the fact that the glass panes will be too small to temper. You would either need to order a window at a minimum of 33” tall, or reduce the horizontal lines to 1.

    Do your casement windows pass egress?

    In order for our steel operable casement windows, it will depend on the size and style that you order. Egress code, while there are some exceptions, typically requires a minimum net clear opening height of 24", a minimum net clear opening width of 20", and a minimum net clear opening square footage of 5.7 Square Feet.

    To calculate this for our casement windows, when on the windows product page, navigate to the “Swing” section and click on “Help Me Understand Swing”. Click on Swing Angle and Net Clear Opening, and you will find a calculation at the bottom with equations for our different styles of casement windows. Best practice is to check with local and state bylaws confirming your specific egress requirements.

    All of our black exterior casement windows come standard with stays that will allow the window to open up to 90 degrees. The butterfly thumb turn can be tightened to hold the window open at any degree between 0 and 90.
