Why Hot-Rolled and Cold-Rolled Steel Doors and Windows are the Preferred Choice for Architects and Designers

Why Hot-Rolled and Cold-Rolled Steel Doors and Windows are the Preferred Choice for Architects and Designers

PINKYS’ steel doors and windows are constructed with hot-rolled steel that enhances the intrinsic properties of steel. Hot-rolling produces malleable, durable, and natural-looking steel that has a scaly finish referred to as “beauty marks” by architects and designers, which can be brushed, sand-blasted, or blackened to the desired finish (this method has been used to construct steel doors and windows for over a century).

Because of its versatility, hot-rolled steel can be welded into a range of applications, including the structural components of buildings, I-beams, bridges, construction materials, railroad tracks, vehicle frames, and premium steel doors and windows.

Some of the benefits of hot-rolled steel includes:

  • Hot-rolled steel is normalized and free from the internal stress of quenching or work-hardening steel, which can make steel less ductile and more susceptible to fatigue.
  • Hot-rolled steel is more malleable and can be cut to form nearly any shape, unlike cold-rolled steel.
  • Hot-rolled steel is easier to reproduce with factory-style efficiency that takes a lot less time than cold-rolled steel.

Our industry-leading design process produces hot-rolled W20 and W40 profiles built with 24-gauge, zinc-coated steel. All of our steel doors and windows can be customized into different shapes and styles, each one constructed with corrosion-resistant hot-rolled steel frame profiles that are extremely versatile.
