5 Fun Ways to Celebrate Labor Day At Home This Year

With Labor Day right around the corner, most of us have already started making social distancing-friendly plans for the big day!

While we may not be able to replicate last year’s parades and picnics, we can definitely put our own spin on one of the most anticipated national holidays of the year.

If you don’t have anything planned yet, we’ve rounded up five fun ways you can unwind and have a fun-filled day with your family!

1. You Can’t Go Wrong With a Backyard Picnic

Delectable snacks. Chilled lemonade. Backyard games.

It’s hard to beat this trio! Plan the ultimate backyard picnic to spend a relaxing and memorable day with your loved ones.

Depending on the last time you threw a backyard party, your backyard may require a little landscaping. Once you’ve taken care of the basics, transport your living room sectionals or dining chairs to your backyard. If you already have a set of backyard chairs, you’re good to go.

Get some board games together, prepare or order your family’s favorite snacks, and create a fun playlist for the day!

2. Barbecue, Anyone?

What better way to spend Labor Day than by throwing a fun barbecue party? Not only will the kids have a great time, but you’ll also manage to sneak in the cheat day you’ve been planning on having for months.

Your BBQ checklist should cover everything from the essentials (meat and vegan alternatives) to the utensils.

Put together delectable combinations and spend the evening watching Norma Rae.

3. Don’t Skimp on Decorations

Deck out your home in red and white décor to get in the Labor Day spirit!

Your kids will particularly enjoy dressing up while you’ll manage to take adorable family photos. You can also repurpose your decorations from the Fourth of July.

4. Have a Pool Party

You can’t beat a classic pool party. Enjoy summer while it’s still in full swing!

To make things a little more fun, order pool accessories online.

While you may feel tempted to invite guests, we strongly recommend holding off until the threat of COVID-19 is negligible. You can throw another pool party a few months down the road.

In the meantime, however, have fun with your family and stay safe.

We also recommend getting a pool snack platter together. You can opt for a wide range of snacks, including guacamole and chips, popcorn, ice pops, pretzels, and fresh fruit.

5. Kick Back and Unwind

Don’t feel like doing much? You don’t have to!

Kick back and unwind with your loved ones or on your own.

Take in the serenity of the outdoors, read a good book, and munch on your favorite snacks. The calming ambiance will help you feel restored and rejuvenated.

If your exterior space isn’t in great condition, we suggest sprucing it up so your patio/backyard plans run smoothly in the future. Indulge in a pair of gorgeous iron patio doors, steel French doors, or steel sliding doors to add a much-needed touch of modern sophistication to your space.

We also recommend working on your home’s curb appeal by indulging in stunning and affordable wrought iron entry doors or steel front doors.

At Pinky’s Iron Doors, we can help you find the perfect portals for your home. Give us a call at 844-843-6677 or browse through our collection to invest in your favorite doors at discounted prices.

Our collection also includes factory-style steel windows, black steel doors, custom iron doors, custom steel doors, and steel pocket doors, among others. Happy shopping!
