The city of Riverside, which is located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles, was established in 1883. The Inland Empire city is known as the birthplace of California’s citrus industry. A few imported navel orange trees from Brazil began the agricultural boon that made Riverside the most prosperous city in California at one time. Riverside is also the home of University of California Riverside and March Air Reserve Base, which is the oldest operating U.S. Air Force base on the West Coast.
While many of Riverside’s residents made their fortunes in the orange groves years ago, the city’s current economy mainly relies on businesses that operate in the industries of education, retail and manufacturing. The city’s plans to attract technology-sector employers through investment in its telecommunication infrastructure have worked so far, and firms such as Luminex Software, I/O Software and Bourns Engineering now have corporate offices in Riverside. In addition to incentives and special programs that are designed to help businesses succeed in the city, Riverside also reaches out to its labor force with employer-partnered job training programs.
Pinky’s Iron Doors Opens New Doors
While Riverside has become known for its sunny economic prospects, the city also offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation and family-friendly fun for its residents and tourists. The Santa Ana River meanders through parts of the city, and the Santa Ana River Trail that runs along the river provides cyclists and walkers with miles of safe space to exercise. The Louis Robidoux Nature Center, which highlights landscaped water features such as Sunnyslope Creek and Schroder’s Pond, provides locals and visitors with more scenic hiking paths than the Santa Ana River Trail offers.
Riverside’s many museums and landmark Mission Inn and Spa reflect the area’s love of history and architecture. While the historic Mission Inn is an excellent tribute to the Mission Revival architectural style, a trip through the city’s neighborhoods such as Canyon Crest, Arlington Heights and Orangecrest unveils a variety of home designs. Mediterranean villas with terracotta-colored tile roofs and ornately forged wrought iron doors seem to be just as common to Riverside neighborhoods as the classic California Craftsman style of homes that feature low-slung rooflines, texturally rich stone porches and partially paned exterior doors.
Durable and elegant iron entry doors like the ones that adorn many of the Mission Revival, Craftsman and Mediterranean style homes in Riverside can be found at Pinky’s Iron Doors. We offer numerous traditional iron door styles that enhance Spanish and Mediterranean home designs as well as contemporary iron door designs with simplistic angles and glass panes that compliment Craftsman style homes. Pinky’s iron doors come pre-drilled for easy installation, and our online ordering and delivery system to anywhere in the United States makes upgrading entry doors a breeze for Riverside property owners and visitors.
