PINKYS Materials: A Quick Overview

PINKYS builds steel doors and windows using different steel construction methods, chosen based on the performance and style needs of the project. The core PINKYS AIR series is built on its own standard steel construction. Casement windows and interior doors are built using Ottostumm steel systems, which also includes the W50 TB thermal break profile. Jansen steel systems are used for other thermally broken applications, including tubular steel profiles.

AIR Series Steel

The core PINKYS AIR series is built using standard steel construction, without a thermal break. This is the steel used across PINKYS's primary non-thermally broken doors and windows, valued for its strength, security, and the narrow sightlines steel framing is known for. It's a strong fit for climates and applications where thermal break performance isn't a primary requirement.

Ottostumm Steel

Casement windows and interior doors are built using Ottostumm steel systems. Ottostumm profiles are known for their slim, refined sightlines, making them well suited to both casement window operation and the finer detailing often used on interior doors. Ottostumm's range also includes the W50 TB profile, built specifically to include a thermal break.

Thermal Break Steel (W50 TB)

W50 TB is an Ottostumm steel profile built specifically to include a thermal break — a layer that separates the interior and exterior faces of the frame. This interruption keeps outdoor temperatures from transferring directly through the steel, improving energy efficiency and helping prevent condensation from forming on the inside of the window or door in cold or humid weather.

Tubular Steel (Jansen)

For other thermally broken applications, PINKYS uses Jansen steel systems for tubular steel construction, which uses a hollow steel profile rather than a solid one. This hollow structure allows a thermal break to be built into the profile itself, helping the frame resist heat transfer while keeping a slim, clean sightline. Tubular steel systems are a good fit for both classic and modern architectural styles.

Why It Matters

Whether built with PINKYS's standard AIR series steel, Ottostumm steel, or Jansen tubular steel, the goal is the same: to combine the strength and clean lines steel is known for with the level of energy performance a given project calls for. Thermally broken systems in particular — including Ottostumm's W50 TB and Jansen's tubular steel — offer better energy performance than traditional non-thermally broken steel, making them a strong choice for climates with cold winters, hot summers, or high humidity, where temperature control and condensation resistance matter most.
