What Is SB70 Glass?
SB 70 pairs a low solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) with high visible light transmission (VT). That combination is what distinguishes it from many solar control products, which typically reduce heat gain at the cost of daylight: SB 70 reduces heat gain while keeping the glass close to the brightness and clarity of clear glass.
SB 70 has a neutral, color-true appearance from both the interior and exterior, without the reflective mirror effect some solar control coatings produce, and without a green or blue tint.
SB 70 is specified for large glazing areas, curtain wall applications, and facades with heavy solar exposure, where maximizing daylight without overheating the interior is a project priority. For floor-to-ceiling steel fenestration with substantial glass area, it's the standard upgrade specification.
