Double-Pane (IGU) Glass for Custom Steel Windows & Doors
Double pane is the standard configuration for Studio Steel exterior assemblies, thermally broken and non-thermally broken alike.
Low-E coating is standard on every double pane build. The coating reflects radiant heat while letting visible light through, so the assembly stays thermally efficient without darkening the glass.
For projects where greater energy efficiency is the goal, SB70 glass is available.
Double pane describes the construction, not the glass type. A double pane unit can incorporate tempered glass, laminated glass, or both. Tempered glass is standard on Studio Steel configurations for safety purposes. Double pane glass can be TDL or SDL, depending on the needs of the project.
It is also available in a variety of decorative and privacy glasses such as grey tint, frost/sandblast, and wood glass. In the case of textured glasses, the texture is on the exterior pane.
Double pane is available across every Studio Steel system, and is the recommended specification for exterior use on thermally broken systems.
