PINKYS Studio Steel Doors & Windows — Built with Jansen Thermal Break Steel

PINKYS designs and builds Studio Steel doors and windows using Jansen thermal break steel, a steel-systems name architects know. This page covers builds made with Jansen's Janisol Arte 2.0, a slender, thermally broken steel system with a track record in both heritage window restoration and modern residential construction.

A wide opening range, from heritage restoration to large glass fronts.

Janisol Arte 2.0 was originally developed for the reconstruction of historic windows and now spans modern residential and light commercial work as well. Dimensions below are Jansen's published maximums for the profile system; confirm project-specific sizing with the Studio Steel team.

Single-vent hinged window (Windows) — Side-hung, inward or outward opening. Max 970 × 2370 mm. Max vent weight 150 kg.

Double-vent hinged window (Windows) — Side-hung, inward or outward opening. Max 1970 × 2370 mm (frame rebate width × vent rebate height). Max vent weight 150 kg.

Top-hung / bottom-hung window (Windows) — Outward-opening top-hung or inward-opening bottom-hung. Max approx. 1620 × 970 mm depending on configuration. Max vent weight 60 kg.

Horizontal & vertical pivot window (Windows) — Inward and outward opening. Max 1370 × 1570 mm. Max vent weight 100 kg.

Projected top-hung window (Windows) — Outward opening. Max 1160 × 1410 mm. Max vent weight 60 kg.

Fixed glazing (Fixed) — Suited to large glass proportions and intricate divided-lite compositions.

Hinged door (Doors) — Single- and double-leaf, inward and outward opening. Threshold or sill-free designs. Mortise or multi-point lock. Wet and dry glazing.

Sliding door (Doors) — Unit sizes up to 3000 × 2500 mm (W×H). Max 150 kg per leaf. Insulating glass 20–34 mm.

Multi-point locking (Locking) — Multi-point window locking standard across the system. Doors available with mortise or multi-point locks.

A recognized name, built the PINKYS way.

Jansen is one of the most recognized names in architectural steel systems, specified worldwide for doors, windows, and façades where performance and slim steel sightlines both matter.

PEDIGREE

Developed for historic windows, built for modern glass fronts.

Janisol Arte was originally developed by Jansen for the reconstruction of historic windows, and the system's slim profile and stable construction now extend that same character to large glass fronts and modern residential work. It's a fit for heritage-matching refurbishment and contemporary construction alike.

THERMAL BREAK

Why steel needs a thermal break.

Steel is highly conductive, so an unbroken steel frame carries cold straight through from outside to inside, wasting energy and chilling the interior surface until moisture condenses on it. Jansen's thermally broken steel separates the inner and outer steel with an insulating zone, keeping the strength and slim profile of steel while sharply cutting heat transfer. This matters most in climates where outdoor temperatures regularly approach freezing or below, and in high-humidity interiors such as kitchens, pools, and conservatories, where warm moist air meets cold steel.

CONSTRUCTION

Tubular steel: a different build than Ottostumm's cold-formed profile.

Jansen's Janisol Arte 2.0 thermal break is built from tubular steel, a different construction than the cold-formed steel profiles Ottostumm uses for the W50 TB and W75 TB. Neither approach is a downgrade from the other; they're different builds suited to different priorities. One place this matters directly: PINKYS's own Air Series exterior doors are also built from tubular steel, so Jansen's construction is a natural match for projects adding onto or matching existing tubular steel doors or windows already on site.

STEEL & FINISH

Finished by PINKYS's six-stage coating system.

As with every Studio Steel unit regardless of steel system, PINKYS applies its own six-stage coating system to the Jansen Janisol Arte 2.0 profile. The finished color and texture come from that process.

PERFORMANCE

Performance data, evaluated per project.

Energy performance, wind load, acoustic, and security ratings for Studio Steel built with Jansen steel are evaluated on a per-project basis. Glazing, hardware, and exact configuration all affect the final numbers, so a single published figure wouldn't be reliable across every build. Contact the Studio Steel sales team with your project's climate zone, opening sizes, and compliance requirements for the data your drawings need.

Frequently Asked Questions

PINKYS designs and builds Studio Steel doors and windows. In this build, Jansen Janisol Arte 2.0 thermal break steel is the profile system PINKYS builds from.
Jansen is a recognized architectural steel systems manufacturer. Its thermal break steel has an insulating barrier inside the frame that interrupts heat transfer between the interior and exterior steel faces, so the frame doesn't conduct cold indoors or chill the interior surface enough to cause condensation.
Evaluated on a per-project basis — glazing, hardware, and configuration all affect the numbers. Contact the Studio Steel sales team with your project's climate zone and requirements.
They reduce it. By keeping the interior frame surface warmer than the room's dew point, a thermal break cuts the condensation that forms on cold, unbroken steel.
Every product ships with the standard eight-stage PINKYS coating system: abrasive blasting to Sa2.5 grade, degreasing and pure water rinsing, a phosphate conversion layer, a cathodic E-coat primer, TIGER electrostatic powder coating and curing, two-pass pre-paint sanding, the PPG Tetrafluoro fluorocarbon topcoat, and final curing and packaging. Color is applied at the topcoat stage and confirmed at specification.
Request a specification sheet from PINKYS. The Studio Steel team provides frame, threshold, and performance data for your drawings, and can advise on NFRC and code-compliance questions on a per-project basis.
