How to Measure
While barn doors do not have a typical jamb, there are still important measurements to note for installation. The goal when measuring for these interior steel double barn doors is to get the measurement of the opening you will be covering, then adding 2” - 4” to the width, and 1” - 2” to the height in order to ensure proper overlap of the existing opening.
Please note that these barn doors, in addition to this height measurement, will require an additional 5.5” of upper clearance in order to mount and install the track and sliding hardware of the door to the wall. Additionally, make sure that you have adequate clearance on both sides you will be sliding the barn door open towards along the face of the wall for comfortable operation.
