Jamb and Frame Placement

A door jamb refers to the thickness of your door frame with all of the interior and exterior finishings. This is not the frame itself, but is solely the measurement of how thick the door frame and finishings are; this should correlate with how thick the wall you’re mounting the door to is.

Our door's frame is constructed with 12 gauge tubing, which is above the industry standard.

Where you place the door frame inside of the jamb will determine how much your door can open.

Threshold

Interior doors come standard with a removable threshold made of a single piece of tubular steel. It is the same thickness as the door frame.

Depth: 2"

Specs & Measurements

Our 2" wide jambs and thresholds are made from 12 gauge steel and are filled with polyurethane foam in order to insure proper sound insulation.

Interior doors come with single pane 5mm thick tempered glass with the exception of Frost glass, which is dual paned tempered glass.

The frames on double interior doors will come broken down and need to be assembled on-site. The frames on single interior doors will come assembled, attached, and ready for installation.

Interior doors, along with interior sidelights and transoms, use a bolt through system that allows you to connect them to one another as well as mount the frames, sidelights and transoms to your rough opening.

A door jamb refers to the thickness of your door frame. This is not the frame itself, but is solely the measurement of how thick the door frame is; this should correlate with how thick the wall you’re mounting the door to is.

How thick is this door’s jamb?

This jamb is 2”.

Is the jamb the same thing as the frame?

No - the “jamb” is solely the measurement of the thickness of your frame in regards to the inner wall of the uprights on your frame.

How does the frame mount to the wall?

This frame, and most of our interior door frames, use a bolt through system that allows you to connect sidelights and transoms as well as mount frames, sidelights, and transoms to your rough opening.

Is the jamb included with the door?

Yes, the jamb is a part of the frame, which is made specifically for the doors that it is shipped with. Our interior doors also come with a removable threshold as well.

Is the jamb/frame galvanized?

Yes, we use a galvanizing spray before doors go into the painting process.

What gauge of material is used for the jamb?

We’ve gone above the industry standard and use 12 gauge steel tubing to make the jamb and frame.

How is the jamb insulated?

We use a polyurethane foam filling to fully insulate our entire frames. This same foam is used to insulate our doors and sidelights as well.

Do you have mounting tabs or a nailing fin on the jamb to make the installation easier?

Our interior doors use a bolt through system that allows you to connect sidelights and transoms as well as mount frames, sidelights, and transoms to your rough opening.
