How to Measure
The goal when measuring your jamb for our exterior steel double doors is to get the measurement from the outermost finishing of your exterior (stucco, brick, concrete, wood, etc.) to the face of the drywall inside. To get this measurement, make sure that you're including all parts of the building materials and the finishings.

Do I Need a Top Window or an Exterior Window?
There are very distinct differences between our top windows and standard exterior windows, which are listed below.
Top Window
Top windows are meant to be placed above an existing PINKYS door. Unless otherwise requested, these top windows will come standard with a 6" jamb, and will have mounting tabs all around the perimeter of the window, meaning you will need to keep space between the door and the top window itself in order to install. If you need the top window to connect directly onto the top of a current PINKYS door, please contact our sales team for further assistance.
Exterior Window
Our standard exterior windows are meant to be used as standalone windows. These windows will come standard with a 2 1/8" jamb, and will have a 3" nailer fin around the entire window. If these are you preferred window type, please navigate to our Steel Windows > NFRC Fixed section for more details.
Specs & Materials
Frame & Jamb
While these exterior thermal steel top windows do not have a separate frame, they do come standard at 6” thick (net size) and are made from cold-rolled air series steel. Custom jamb sizes are available via our made to order section.
Foam
These steel exterior thermal top windows come filled with a polyurethane foam core, which acts as a sound deadening material, and also provides some insulating properties for better energy efficiency. The foam also helps prevent moisture from accumulating inside the steel tubes, contributing to the door's longevity.
Nailer Fin
These steel exterior thermal top windows feature a 3" nailer fin around the entire frame of the window itself, creating a tight seal to keep exterior elements out.
Metals
Steel windows offer many more enhanced security features when compared to their wood, fiberglass, vinyl, or aluminum counterparts. These steel exterior fixed windows are made with cold-rolled air series steel, which contains a galvanized mix to help prevent corrosion and rust over time.
FAQs

How does the window mount to the wall?
These steel exterior thermal top windows feature welded mounting tabs designed to be installed from the interior of your space. The tabs are inset to allow for 5/8” drywall to be installed flush with the face of the frame. Each tab features two pre-drilled lag holes for a more flexible installation, though only one lag bolt per tab is required. Bolt through applications or nailer fins are available via request through our custom sales team.
Is the jamb/frame galvanized or zinc coated?
While these steel exterior thermal windows do not have a separate jamb, the windows do contain a galvanized mix to help prevent corrosion, rust, and finish issues when exposed to damp or moist conditions over time.
