How to measure

If you have a rough opening (no door or door frame installed), use a measuring tape to get the measurements of the height and the width.

Your rough opening should be 2 inches wider and 1 inch taller than the door you're ordering in order to account for leveling of the door and the frame.

It is very important that 1 inch is left on the top and each side. Once you get your rough opening size, subtract 1 inch from the height and 2 from the width, and that will be your door size.

If you are measuring a door that already has another door frame in it’s place, follow the instructions at the beginning of the video above.

How to Install

Our interior doors use a bolt through system that allows you to connect sidelights and transoms as well as mount frames, sidelights, and transoms to your rough opening.

The frame must be leveled properly according to our full Installation Guide.

Once leveled, your frame will need to be mounted firmly and your doors will then need to be hung.

Once your frame is mounted level and your doors are hung, your finishing, sheetrock/drywall, and/or trim will cover up the mounting tabs and any space between your frame and rough opening needed to keep the frame level.

Refer to our full installation guide once you are installing your doors in order to ensure you are following the correct procedures.

How to Grease your Hinges

Please grease the hinges once a year at the bare minimum, if you hear squeaking noises, please grease them right away. Failure to do so will result in the hinges breaking due to friction.

Iron Door Spray

Avoid Damage to Finish on Door and Frame.

It is important to maintain your new iron/steel doors and windows throughout the year. We recommend you wipe down your door/window at least once a month with our Iron Door Spray

Do not use any water, chemical cleaning agents and/or any kind of soap (including but not limited to dish soap, laundry detergent, body soap, etc.)

Using water, soap, and chemical cleaning agents will lead to rust and cause the paint on the door to dry out (removing the moisture from the paint), and may eventually lead to cracking/peeling of paint, discoloration, etc, over time.

Is this the size of the door, or the frame?
We measure the frame only because all of our doors come with the hand made frame that they were made to be hung on.

Our standard steel doors are 1 inch smaller on the height and 1 inch smaller on each side of the frame.

Is there an install guide for this?
Yes! We have video guides explaining each and every step of the process, as well as a full installation guide. The videos and the pdf will be provided to you with your door on easy to scan QR codes on our packaging.

How do I measure for my door?

If you are measuring a door that already has another door frame in it’s place, follow the instructions at the beginning of the video here.

If you are measuring a door that already has another door frame in its place, you can either take off the upper door trim and measure from the edge of each stud, which will get you your rough opening size as outlined above, or you can measure from the inside of your door jamb to the other side and one from the floor to the top of the inside of your door jamb. Once you get those measurements, add an inch and ½ on each side and you’ll have your rough opening size. Subtract 1 inch from the height and 2 inches from the width, and you’ll have your door size from us.

With these measurements, go to our sizes and round to the nearest one. If the closest measurement we offer requires you to round down to our size, you should be able to move forward. If you must round up to our size, consult a contractor about the sizing, watch video.
