WHAT FORM(S) OF SHIPPING DO YOU USE?
Most of our doors are shipped via LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight. each order is palletized specifically for the size of the door.
HOW LONG DO SHIPMENTS TAKE TO GET TO MY LOCATION?
For LTL shipments, transit time is between 2-14 days to get to their destination terminal, depending on the destination. once it has arrived, the carrier will call within a few days to set up a delivery date and time with you directly. Please note that no transit times are guaranteed, and holidays do affect these times as well.
For flatbed shipments, the time it takes to secure a flatbed will vary based on the time of year and the weather. Transit time once shipped varies based on destination, and will be anywhere from 1-10 days. The driver will contact you 24 hours before arrival.
HOW DO LTL DELIVERIES WORK?
For an LTL delivery, once the pallet gets picked up, you will get updates from the carrier as it moves through each terminal. Once it arrives at the destination terminal, the carrier will contact you within a few of days to schedule a delivery date and time.
Once a date is secured, it is necessary to have at minimum 2 to 3 able bodied persons to dismantle the pallet inside the box truck and bring each piece off one by one. To do so only requires a standard #2 Phillips screw bit and a cordless drill, along with a pair of scissors to cut the scraping holding the doors down to the pallet. Lift gates are often available, but they are strictly up to the discretion of the driver and his manager due to safety protocols.
HOW DO FLATBED DELIVERIES WORK?
When ordering multiple doors that would typically require more than 2 pallets when shipping via LTL freight, a flatbed may be the required form of shipment. With flatbed orders, a PINKYS representative will be contacting you via phone to discuss the process before having the order picked up. once PINKYS gets the ok from you, the customer, to put your load up for bid, the order will take anywhere between 1-4 days (sometimes more depending on destination, sizing, and time of year) to get picked up from our warehouse. once picked up, the flatbed driver will contact you 24 hours out from delivery. There is no set date/time for flatbed deliveries. It is your responsibility to make sure you are there for offload at the time the driver arrives. You will have 30-45 minutes to offload your order. Most of our doors require 2-3 (sometimes 4) able bodied persons to lift and remove doors and frames from the flatbed. For larger orders, please make sure you have more manpower in order to offload within the time limits. PINKYS is not liable for any charges that may occur due to non adherence to the above information.

HOW ARE YOUR DOORS MEASURED?
Our sizes are measured from outside of jamb to the outside of the jamb. For example, a 72” x 96” iron door listed on our website means that 72” is the width from outside to outside of jamb (not the actual width size of the door) and 96” is the height from outside of jamb to bottom of our built-in steel threshold (not the actual height of the door).
We recommend the rough opening of the width to be 1/2” to 1” wider than the door size ordered to give the installer enough room to comfortably position the jamb into place and have enough room to make sure the jamb is leveled.

We do not do installations.

CAN I BUY A TRANSOM FOR MY DOOR I ALREADY HAVE?
Yes as long as you have a beam between the door and transom or it will need some work to modify the stock door frame to allow a transom to be placed right no top
WHAT IS A LOW-E GLASS?
The “E” in Low-E stands for Emissivity - The ability to emit radiant energy. Low emissivity or Low-E Glass is a coating of Microscopically thin metal layers deposited on a door glass surface to keep the heat on the same side of the glass from which it originated.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF LOW-E GLASS?
Improved Energy Efficiency: In addition to reducing heat loss during winter months, Low-E Glass also reduces heat gain during the air-conditioning season.
Reduced Condensation: Condensation on door glass can be a problem during the heating season, as warm air comes into contact with cold door glass and gives up its moisture, forming water droplets on the glass surface. Low-E Glass will minimize or Eliminate this unwanted condensation.
WHAT IS THE THICKNESS OF THE GLASS THAT YOU USE ON YOUR DOORS?
Tempered dual pane glass. There is a 3/8" spacer in between each 1/8” thick glass that makes the total thickness of the tempered dual pane glass 5/8”. Front exterior side glass is the design glass style you chose and back interior side.

WHAT IS TEMPERED GLASS?
Tempered glass is defined as toughened glass that has been treated by heat or chemicals to increase its strength. Tempered glass is about four times stronger than "ordinary," or annealed, glass. And unlike annealed glass, which can shatter into jagged shards when broken, tempered glass fractures into small, relatively harmless pieces. Tempered glass has many benefits and uses which makes it a popular glass used in many home and commercial building projects.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A TEMPERED GLASS?
The most important benefit of tempered glass is safety. Tempered glass reduces the risk of injury due to its nature of breaking into small, circular pieces instead of sharp, jagged shards.
A final benefit of tempered glass is its strength. Because the process of heating and applying chemicals strengthens the glass, tempered glass is an excellent choice for doors and any other projects where maximum durability is desirable.
WHAT IS A DUAL PANE GLASS?
Insulating Glass (IG), more commonly known as Double Glazing (or Double-Pane), consists of two glass panes separated to help reduce heat transfer across a part of the building envelope.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A DUAL PANE GLASS?
Double-paned doors have two sheets of glass in a door frame instead of just one. Between the glass panes is a small space to provide insulation. The small space between windowpanes is filled with insulating gas to further increase insulation.
WHAT IS THE GLASS SIZE?
Front exterior side glass is the design glass style you chose and back interior side glass is clear. Each tempered dual pane glass is 1/4” thick. Tempered dual pane glass (including the spacer in between the two glasses) is a total of 5/8” in thickness. The dual glass comes installed on the door.

Yes. Tabs come welded on jamb with predrilled holes to allow for easy installation.
WHAT TYPE OF HINGES DO YOU USE?
Steel weld on bullet hinges with grease fittings come welded on jamb and door. Allows customers to comfortably open our doors, but yet feel that quality with each and every use. We use welded steel bullet hinge with copper crush washer instead of a ball bearing hinge because ball bearings are made out of stainless steel (hard material) and the hinges/doors are made out of steel (softer material) which over time causes the hinge to wear. With copper crush washers, the washer is the soft point and they are easily replaceable over time if needed.

WHAT IS YOUR LOCK BORE HOLE SPECS?
If you choose to purchase your hardware/lockset from a third party vendor, please make sure to provide them with the following specifications to ensure that your desired lockset will be compatible with our doors.
Bore hole size: 2 1/8”
Back set: 2 3/4”
Center to center: 5 1/2”
Door thickness: 2”
In stock single doors come with two predrilled bore holes (one active lock needed) unless if otherwise specified.
In stock double doors come with two predrilled bore holes on each door (one active lock and one dummy lock needed) unless if otherwise specified.
Our Dutch Doors have a different lock spec than our regular exterior doors. The back set for dutch doors is 2 3/8" as opposed to 2 3/4".
Locks purchased from PINKYS do not come installed on door upon delivery or shipment. The reason for this is that it may get damage.
During the delivery or shipment process. The installer will need to install the lock after the door installation is complete.
WHAT IS THE BORE HOLE?
Bore Hole: A Bore Hole is the Doorknob Hole that is drilled on the face of the door with a hole saw. The hole is drilled halfway through from each side. The hole saw is also used to drill the cross bore otherwise known as the latch hole. Both doorknob hole and latch holes come completed and drilled with every in-stock order to help your installer install the lock at ease.
WHAT IS THE CENTER TO CENTER?
Center to Center: The vertical distance measured between the center-points of the two bore holes. In other words, it is the measurement from the middle of the top bore hole to the middle of the bottom bore hole. This measurement is used to determine where a bore for the deadbolt is located above the bore for the latch. This information is important to help our customers purchase the correct compatible lock if you choose to purchase them from an outside hardware store. We have already done the homework for you by specifying the PINKYS locks that are compatible with your door if you choose to purchase the locks from PINKYS.
WHAT IS THE BACK SET?
Back set: The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the 2-1/8” bore hole. The back set measurement is important to help our customers purchase the correct compatible lock with the correct latch size. We have already done the homework for you by specifying the PINKYS locks that are compatible with your door if you choose to purchase the locks from PINKYS. Our customers do not have to purchase the locks from PINKYS, you may purchase the locks from any local hardware store of your liking.
WHAT IS THE DOOR THICKNESS?
The doors are 2" inches thick, include a steel threshold, and bullet hinges with grease fittings welded on the frame.
MAY I RETURN MY DOOR?
Within thirty days of the date products are delivered and prior to installation or an attempt to install, your purchase can be returned to PINKYS for a refund. Please note that a 25% restocking fee will be charged for the return, and pinky’s iron doors has the right to charge for any damages that may have occurred to the product(s). The product must be packed in its original packaging material.
If packaging material is unusable, please contact our customer service department prior to return. Delivery fees are not refundable.

In order to return an item you need to first obtain an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.

Place the original product into its original packaging. Please do not place stickers or shipping labels on the original package. The RMA number must be clearly written on package. We recommend you ship via insured common carrier service with a tracking number.
Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer. We are not responsible for lost or damaged packages.
Please allow up to 2 to 3 weeks for your refund or exchange to process for stock products.
CAN YOU MAKE THE DOOR TO HAVE A SCREEN?
Yes, we can. Doors with removable screens are available with standard sizes only.

We use automotive paint to coat our doors.
Galvanize spray is used to help provide greater protection against corrosion for the iron base. Primer and automotive paint is applied after the galvanizing spray process.
CAN I PUT AN IRON DOOR IN MY OLD HOME THAT HAS A WEIRD SIZE?
Yes, we can custom make any size and any design. Simply provide us with the dimensions and design and we will write you an estimate.
ARE THE RUBBER DOOR SWEEPS INCLUDED?
Yes, door sweep located underneath the door is included and comes installed on door.
Bottom sweeps are used to help seal the gap at the bottom of your door to help prevent infiltration of sound, light, drafts, insects, moisture, smoke, or fire. The bottom sweep is a simple way to help in insulating a room, which provides cost and environmental benefits.
IS THE FLUSH LATCH INCLUDED?
Yes, included and pre-installed on all double door orders (unless otherwise specified). Our flush latch is installed on the upper and lower sections of the secondary door to allow both doors to open and operate while in the unlocked position.
